On Wednesday 16th March Mr Mark and the rest of the KS1 team hosted a very successful Mathematics event for parents of children in KS1. It was very well attended with parents taking part in a range of mathematics activities with their children. They were able to gain more of an insight into the challenges which the new curriculum poses for our KS1 children as well as having fun at the same time. Parents were also provided with some literature outlining details of the new KS1 SATs tests and ideas about how best to help their children at home.
On Thursday 3rd of March our children celebrated World Book Day. They came dressed as their favourite book character and took part in exciting book themed activities throughout the day.
The children paraded around in the hall and parents voted for their most favourite costume per class. Here is a photo of our amazing winners.
I think you will agree that all the children looked amazing.
A team of young news reporters in years 5 and 6 six have been working hard this term to produce our very own pupil led newspaper – Hecky Star.
They have worked tirelessly to produce reports on events/topics of their own choice and I think you will agree they have done marvellous job.
Copies have been sent home last week to all Key Stage Two parents. If you didn’t get a copy don’t worry and enjoy. Hecky Star Issue 1
Look out for Issue 2 in the Spring Term.
